Two Monaghan schools have moved a step closer to getting significant new extensions.
Beech Hill College in Monaghan town and Our Lady's Secondary School in Castleblayney received approval from the Department of Education yesterday.
Beech Hill College has been approved for a major new extension.
The project includes six general classrooms, four special education rooms, a multimedia room and woodwork and science labs.
The multi-story extension, which will replace a number of pre-fabs at the site, will now move to the design stage.

Meanwhile, Our Lady's Secondary School has been given approval to move to the planning stage for its 13 classroom extension.
That major project was announced last June.
