Shelbourne attacker Will Jarvis has been named the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month for March.
The on-loan Hull City player helped Shels end March clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division. Shelbourne winning five games.
Jarvis, started all five games, scoring three goals including a brace in the 2-1 win over St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park.
Jarvis turned in a man-of-the-match performance against their city rivals, with his two identical second-half strikes helping Shels increase their lead at the summit.
A week earlier, Jarvis late penalty helped Shels in another Dublin Derby as Bohemians were beaten 2-0.
Jarvis wins the award having been nominated for the first time in his short career in Ireland.
After 12 years without a POTM winner, Shels have now had a winner, three times in the last four months. This month’s win follows Jack Moylan's last October and Mark Coyle in February.
"The team have been brilliant to start the season off” said Jarvis. “I'm glad to be a part of it so far”.
"For me as well, obviously, last season when I came my statistics weren't as great but to score in three Dublin derbies and to win the games as well, it's brilliant for me."
Jarvis returned to Tolka Park at the end of January for his second loan spell with Duff's team. The English winger has been a creative force all season for Damien Duff's league leaders.
"The lads and staff welcomed me brilliantly and I knew most of the lads. There are a few new players and they've all settled in as well" said Jarvis.
Favourite performance so far
Jarvis picked out his performance in Shels away victory over Pat's last month as his personal highlight of this campaign.
"I scored both goals to win” explained Jarvis. “For Shels fans and for us as well, it was a massive game, big three points."
In a vote of SWI members, Jarvis was a popular winner, finishing ahead of Derry City's striker Patrick Hoban in second place. Jarvis' Shels teammate Paddy Barrett was third.
The six-man shortlist for March's player-of-the-month award featured Sligo Rovers Max Mata and Shamrock Rovers pair Joshua Honohan and Darragh Burns.
