The Ulster Council have confirmed that next year’s Dr McKenna Cup competition will begin on Friday January 7th 2022 with the draw to confirm the groups due to take place within the next week. A 15 day window has been made available for the competition with Tuesday January 11th and Saturday January 15th ear marked for the remaining group fixtures. The semi finals are scheduled for January 18th with the final down for decision on the 22nd a week out from the proposed begining of the Allianz National football league.
There was no competition this year due to the covid pandemic so Tyrone will enter the competition as the cup holders having accounted for Monaghan in the 2020 final.
