Monaghan U20 fell to a huge 27 point defeat to Tyrone as they fell to third in the group.
Monaghan will meet Armagh or Donegal in the Ulster U20 quarter-final stage. After, Tyrone secured top spot with the big win. Tyrone winning out 5-20 to eight points.
Tyrone led 3-8 to three points at half-time. Nicky Sherlock, Dara McKenna and a Kian Duffy 45 Monaghan’s first-half scorers. Tyrone’s goals came from Odhran Brolly, Cormac Devlin and McElhom with Tyrone’s goals.
A Duffy free, a Dara McKenna 45 and from scores play from play for Luke McManus and Duffy wrapped up Monaghan’s scoring.
Ruairi McCullagh and Michael Rafferty added the Tyrone goals as they won out 5-20 to seven points.
Tyrone win group A with seven points. Derry beat Antrim 5-16 to three points to take second place. Whereas Monaghan finish third.
As the Armagh and Donegal group B game was called off, Monaghan await the re-fixture to decide who they face. Meanwhile, Derry will face Cavan in the other quarter-final.
