Traugh caused the surprise of the Monaghan championship when they dumped out Clontibret in a surprisingly low scoring game.
Truagh were victorious by five points, 1-8 to six points. However with two minutes remaining it was Clontibret who led six points to five.
Clontibret had led five points to three at half-time, Conor McManus (3) and Conor Boyle (2) with Clontibret’s scores with Truagh’s points coming from Gary Mohan, Adam Treanorm Jack McCarron.
It would take 14 second-half minutes for another score, a Gary Mohan free and Paudie McKenna squared the game at five points apiece.
Brian Greenan looked to have edged Clontibret over the line with his sides only second-half point four minutes from time.
Cormac McKenna found the Clontibret net in injury time with insurance points from James and Christopher McKenna.
Truagh won out 1-7 to six points and will now meet Ballybay in next Sunday’s semi-final.
