It has been another tough day for Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow at Le Golf National in the women’s golf.
Maguire posted a 79 to slip back to 13-over and tied 58th of 60 competitors. The Cavan golfer registered a treble bogey on Wednesday and concluded today's round with a disastrous quadruple bogey.
Whereas, Stephanie Meadow is eight-over par following today’s second round of 74, leaving her in a tie for 53rd place.
Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux is the new leader on eight-under par.
Overnight leader Boutier, of France, has dropped back to three-under-par and a tie for sixth. China's Yin Ruoning holds the silver medal position on seven-under-par, while Lydia Ko of New Zealand is in bronze on five-under-par.
There is no cut in the Olympics, meaning all 60 players will be around for the weekend.
