Reports say three candidates are out of the running as Monaghan continue their search for a new senior football manager.
Former Dublin star Jason Sherlock was believed to be a contender along with current Ballymun Kickhams manager Brendan Hackett and outgoing Monaghan minor boss Mark Counihan.
All three candidates are understood to be out of the picture now and Northern Sound is awaiting confirmation from the county board.
It appears Monaghan’s search for a new manager has extended into a third month with three rounds of senior club championship action already completed.
Previous boss Seamus McEnaney confirmed his resignation towards the end of June shortly after the Farney men were knocked out of the championship by Mayo.
