Fans are expected to return to match venues from June seventh with bigger crowds expected to be allowed from July.
It is expected that attendances of 100 at sports fixtures will be given the green light as part of the governments easing of restrictions set to be announced this evening, with that figure rising to 200 before July.
There are set to be a number of test events with the target of 25,000 being in attendance for the All-Ireland hurling and football finals in August.
A number of sports events have been highlighted as possible test events including.
Leinster v Scarlets on June 11, Ireland’s two home rugby internationals against Japan and USA on July third and 10th. Shamrock Rovers home fixtures in the champions league qualifiers.
The Leinster hurling final is also believed to be a test event with 10,000 fans in attendance at Croke Park on July 17.
