The official launch of the Tailteann cup has taken place with the first round of fixtures throwing in this coming weekend. Cavan and Laois will get the action underway in Kingspan Breffni on Saturday afternoon at 4pm. The Breffni side entered the competition following their quarter final loss to Armagh and captain Raymond Galligan noted that there was disappointment in regards to the their performance in that encounter
Longford get their campaign underway with a trip to the Gaelic Grounds to face Limerick with their Leinster championship campaign coming to an end at the hands of Offaly. Other fixtures will see Down welcoming Waterford to Paric Esler, while Meath and Tipperary face each other in Paric Tailteann. Leitrim get their campaign underway on Sunday with a trip to Corrigan Park to face Antrim, Fermanagh and Wexford meet in Brewster Park, Offaly welcome London to Tullamore while Wicklow and Carlow in Aughrim.
