Limerick athlete Sarah Lavin and Offaly golfer Shane Lowry will be Ireland's flag bearers for the Olympic Games in Paris.
Indeed, 100 metre hurdler, Lavin is competing in her second Olympic Games having competed in Tokyo 2020. Indeed, Lavin is ranked in the world top 10.
While, Shane Lowry is competing in his second Olympic Games, having competed in Toyko 2020.

The opening ceremony gets under way at 7pm on the River Seine. It is the first time the opening ceremony is not taking place in the Olympic stadium.
