A dominant second-half display saw Cavan score a 2-13 to 0-16 win at home to Armagh in Allianz hurling league division 3A.
Armagh led 0-10 to 0-3 at half-time. Canice Maher, Liam O’Brien and Nicholas Kenny accounting for Cavan’s first-half tally.
Aaron Fox pushed Armagh eight points clear five minutes into the second half. Seven minutes later Nicholas Kenny’s goal saw Cavan make it a two-point game.
Brian Fitzgerald added another goal on 55 minutes and suddenly the hosts got their noses in front.
Thomas Leonard pushed Cavan three points clear heading into injury time. The hosts held on for their second win of the campaign.
The result leaves Cavan third in Allianz League division 3A with a round of fixtures to be played on Sunday. If Sligo beat Monaghan and Mayo beat Louth, both sides will book their place in the divisional final.
