Scotstown opened the defence of their Monaghan senior championship title with a 12 points to seven victory over Ballybay.
Scotstown led eight points to five at half-time including three points from Jack McCarron. Whereas, McCarron and Rory Beggan added scores from free’s to see Scotstown to victory.
Paul Finlay came off the bench with just five points beside the teams. However, Finlay saw red after an altercation with Jack McCarron.
