Aughnamullen remain rooted to the bottom of Monaghan senior football championship group one after losing 0-10 to 1-4 at home to Scotstown.
Mark McCardle’s goal on the half-hour mark gave Aughnamullen a two-point lead before points from Darren Hughes and Conor McCarthy restored parity at half-time; 1-3 to 0-6.
Two points from Shane Carey and one from Hughes saw Scotstown open up a three-point gap on 46 minutes before Colin Clerkin opened the hosts’ second half account eight minutes later.
Aughnamullen failed to score thereafter and another point from Hughes’ one minute into injury time sealed a three-point victory for the visitors.
