Scotstown powered past Erne Gaels to setup an Ulster football semi-final with Kilcoo.
The Fermanagh champions had no answer for Scotstown who scored a 13-point victory in Brewster Park. Scotstown having led 14 points to three at half-time.
Jack McCarron converted a first minute mark to open the scoring. Ultan Kelm equalised two minutes later, but it was a rare if only Erne bright spot.
It would take the Fermanagh side 18 minutes to find another score. In that period, five McCarron points including three free’s and a mark. Plus three from Conor McCarthy and one each from Michael McCarville and Jason Carey had Scotstown 11 points to one ahead.
Barry McCann added Erne’s second point on 22 minutes. Whereas, Kieran Hughes and McCarron kept Scotstown ticking over.
Shane Rooney added a third Erne point before Conor McCarthy added his fourth of the night in injury time. Scotstown led 14 points to three at half-time.
Aogan Kelm and Dan McCann point fired over the second-half’s opening scores, the first time Erne had back-to-back scores. However, Conor McCarthy added his fifth of the day to make it a 10 point game in response.
Frees from McCarron and Carey finished any hopes of an Erne Gaels comeback. Conor McCarthy made it 18 points to five on three-quarter time.
Mattie Maguire added Scotstown’s 19th point of the game on 47 minutes. Whereas, Ryan Lyons added Erne Gaels sixth of the day 10 minutes from time.
Scotstown settling for a 19 points to six victory and a semi-final meeting with Kilcoo in the Athletic Grounds next Saturday.
