Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan has secured try-outs with Carolina Panthers of the NFL.
Beggan is unlikely to be involved in Monaghan’s All-Ireland group stage opener with Kerry on May 18.
While, Beggan will be working with the Carolina Panthers; Wicklow stopper Mark Jackson has an opportunity to impress the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Beggan and Jackson took part in the NFL's International Player Pathway earlier this year.
While both impressing with their kicking abilities at the NFL Combine, both players returned to Ireland after the initial draft.
Down keeper Charliie Smyth who was part of the same camp; signed a three-year deal to become a kicker with the New Orleans Saints back in March.
The Panthers and Steelers have now decided to take a closer look at what Beggan and Smyth each could offer ahead of the new NFL season.
