Rugby is one sport where former players transition into match officials regularly.

Sean McCaffrey recently visited the Cavan rugby club as part of their 50-year celebrations where he spoke to President Audrey Maguire and the first captain of the club Peter Pollock.

Indeed, Pollock explained, after he finished playing he turned his attention to being a referee.
