Raymond Galligan looks set to become the new Cavan senior football manager.
The Cavan GAA Management committee have recommended Galligan for appointment on a three-year term. The proposal is subject to ratification at the next county committee meeting.
While, Galligan's assistant will be Eamon Murray, a two-time All-Ireland winning manager with the Meath ladies footballers.
Galligan's backroom team also includes Tyrone's three-time All-Ireland winner Stephen O’Neill, Mayo’s James Burke (incumbent assistant) and Cavan's Ronan Flanagan. Athletics legend Catherina McKiernan will be the team's life coach.
Galligan has played as a goalkeeper for the Breffni men since 2015. He also captained his county to an Ulster title in 2020.
The Lacken clubman also received an All-Star award later that year and has amassed over 100 games for the Breffni men.
