Ramor United booked their place in the Cavan senior football final after a two point win over Gowna.
Ramor won out 2-10 to 1-11 after leading eight points to seven at half-time.
Ramor led through scores from Matthew Smith 0-3 (2 frees), Enda Maguire 0-2, James Bradley, Ben Smith and Adrian Cole (mark). Whereas Gowna’s scores came from Conor Madden 0-3, Cian Madden 0-3 (1 free), Oisin Pierson and Cillian Brady.
Cian Madden levelled the game with 60 seconds of the restart. Madden put Gowna ahead on 41 minutes.
However, Gareth Mannion found the Gowna net 60 seconds later for Ramor’s first score of the second-half. Madden pulled it back to a one point game before Matthew Smith converted a free on 45 minutes. Ramor leading by one point.
Smith converted another free three minutes to push Ramor two clear. Jack Brady found Ramor’s second goal with eight minutes remaining, making it a five point game.
Indeed, Seanie Hartin struck right back with a goal. Gareth Mannion restored Ramor’s three point lead with 60 seconds remaining.
While Conor Casey fired over a Gowna point it wasn’t enough. Ramor united prevailing 2-10 to 1-11.
Ramor United will face Crosserlough in the Cavan senior final on Sunday October 20th.
