Ramor United grabbed a Cavan semi-final place at the second time of asking over Larragh United.
Ramor scored a four point victory, the quarter-final replay, a game they were comfortable throughout.
The sides were level 1-7 apiece at half-time after Ramor had made a storming start. James Bradley and Oliver McCrystal opening Ramor’s scoring inside three minutes.
Paul Smith’s point got Larragh off the mark on six minutes, then came the Ramor onslaught.
Cathal Maguire (0-2), McCrystal and Killian Maguire moved Ramor six points to one clear on 13 minutes.
The flood gates looked to open when James Bradley took advantage of weak defending to land the game’s opening goal on 17 minutes.
However, the game swung like a massive pendulum. A Lee Reilly 45, two Paul Smith frees and Pauric O’Reilly from play made it a four point game.
When James Tully found the Ramor net on 23 minutes, Larragh had their tails up, moving ahead through points from Ciaran Cooney and Mark Magee.
Paul Smith’s point on the stroke of half-time saw the sides go in 1-7 apiece at half-time.
A Jack Brady free and Mark Magee from play saw Ramor move two clear, four minutes into the second-half. Lee Reilly sent over Larragh’s first point of the second-half.
James Bradley from play on 40 minutes and converted a free a minute later as Ramor led 1-11 to 1-8.
Paul Smith responded for Larragh, but James Bradley converted a free moments later. Fergal McKenna and Enda Maguire exchanged points as Ramor led by three entering the fourth-quarter.
However, it was Ramor who had the bigger finish. Enda Maguire, Jack Brady (free) and Liam Maguire put the game beyond Larragh.
Evan Brady pulled a point back two minutes into injury time to make it 1-15 to 1-11.
Adam O’Connell received a black card four minutes into injury time as Ramor finished with 14. Paul Smith sent over a free to make it a three point game.
Lorcan Lynch fisted over a point five minutes into injury time to put the gloss on the victory. Ramor winning out 1-16 to 1-12.
Ramor will meet Kingscourt Stars in the Cavan semi-final on October 8th. Meanwhile, defending champions Gowna advanced to the semi-final with victory over Killygarry.
