A number of managers have noted the requirement for additional substitutions

With the 2nd round of fixtures in the Allianz National football league complete and all parties adjusting to the new playing rules, the general consensus would appear to be positive towards what has been introduced. A number of high scoring encounters were recorded over the weekend while players are adjusting to 3 remaining in one half of the field and avoiding dissent which can see the ball been moved up by 50 metres. One change however that a number of managers have called for is an increase in the number of substitutions that can be made. With a greater speed and pace to the game, players are now covering more ground and Monaghan manager Gabriel Bannigan was one of those that believes the number of changes that can be made from the bench needs to increase

Monaghan are unbeaten in Division 2 as are Roscommon with both sides set to meet on Sunday week. Following the Rossies win over Louth at the weekend, manager Davy Burke was also calling for the number of substitutions that can be made to go up

With a break in the football league this weekend, it is believed the rules commission will take a look at how the opening rounds have went and take on board any concerns that have been raised
