Paul Brady suffered disappointment in the men’s handball singles final after injury forced him to concede to Robbie McCarthy.
Brady was bidding for his 11th All-Ireland senior handball singles title and got off to a flying start. The Cavan native won his first game 21-16.
Brady subsequently led the second game 16-7 despite battling groin problems. However, the injury meant he couldn’t continue and had to concede the game.
Mullingar native McCarthy has won the title for the seventh time as a result.
Elsewhere, Roscommon’s Fiona Tully missed out on an All-Ireland ladies singles four-wall title after losing out to Cork’s Catriona Casey.
Casey won the first game 21-10 and made an explosive start to the second game opening up a 12-3 lead in the early stages.
Tully showed resilience to make it a one-point game (13-12), however Casey finished with a flourish and claimed her seventh national four-wall title.
