Garland’s scoring prowess helped Monaghan win the competition this year.

Monaghan hurler Niall Garland has been crowned player of the year in the Lory Meagher cup competition.

Garland’s scoring prowess proved to be vitally important as the Farney men won the tournament for the first time. When beating Lancashire 3-22 to 3-20.

Elsewhere, Carlow’s Martin Kavanagh was crowned Joe McDonagh Cup hurler of the year. The Christy Ring Cup hurler of the year prize went to Meath’s Jack Regan.

Whereas, Wicklow’s Andy O’Brien was named player of the year in the Nickey Rackard division.
