A strong finish saw the Monaghan U20 footballers score a 0-9 to 0-7 victory over Armagh at Clones.
Armagh started impressively and led 0-4 to 0-1 inside 12 minutes. Monaghan eventually settled and landed three of the next four scores.
Two points from Stephen Mooney and one from Cian Conlon left a solitary point between them at half-time. Monaghan trailed 0-5 to 0-4.
Armagh moved two points clear within two minutes of the restart before Caolan Reilly restored parity five minutes later.
The sides subsequently traded a point each before two unanswered points saw Monaghan emerge victorious.
Mooney and Dylan McConnell were both on target inside the final eight minutes as the hosts set up a quarter-final meeting with Cavan.
