Monaghan booked a place in the All-Ireland minor semi-final after an excellent 1-16 to 1-8 win over Mayo.
The farney men didn’t have it all their own way. An eighth minute Josh Carey goal rattled the farney side who trailed 1-1 to 0-2.
However, Seàn Og McElwaine’s point and a Conor Jones goal on 14 minutes had Monaghan right back in the game. Max McGinty (f), Tommy Mallon (0-2), Sean O’Connell and Matthew Finn all sent over points as Monaghan led 1-9 to 1-4 at half-time.
While, McGinnity, Finn and Mallon (0-2 each) were sharp for Monaghan after the restart. Tommy Lydon added a point as the farney comfortably progressed. The Farney men conceding just four second-half points.

Meanwhile, Dublin, Kerry and Derry all earned quarter-final victories. Dublin saw off Cork 1-18 to 2-12. Kerry beat Kildare 2-13 to 1-11 and Derry hammered Galway 1-13 to 0-4.
