Following last weekends break the Club football championship returns in Monaghan this Saturday. In the senior grade in Goup 1 Scotstown will look to make it back to back wins when they make the trip to Aughnamullen who are still awaiting their first victory while Clontibret welcome a Ballybay side who know that avoiding defeat will see them into the knock out stages. On Sunday in Group 2 Carrickmacross and Castleblayney face each other in a repeat of the League relegation final play off, a fixture which handed the Faughs their first and only win of the year while it is a top of the table clash between Truagh and Inniskeen with both sides having had the perfect start to their championship campaigns with 2 wins from as many outings.
The Break in action was to facilitate the hosting of the County finals in Hurling which attracted a large crowd to the Truagh GAA club. Castleblayney once again came out on top in their senior decider with Carrickmacross and speaking after the victory manager Kevin Moloney acknowledged how the work to suit those players that also play football
