Monaghan recorded their first win of the Bank of Ireland Dr. McKenna cup beating Fermanagh 0-16 to 0-11 at Clones.
Seamus McEnaney’s men led 0-9 to 0-5 at the half-time break before finishing the game with five points to spare.
Monaghan were four points up on 23 minutes and the sides cancelled each other out during the remainder of the half leaving the same margin between them at half-time.
Five minutes of the second half, Monaghan moved eight points clear thanks to points from Aaron Mulligan (two), Conor McCarthy and Shane Carey.
Fermanagh reduced the margin to six points at the second water break and while Aidan Breen and Ryan Lyons slotted over two late points, they still came up short.
Monaghan remain unbeaten in the campaign having drawn with Derry in round one.
