Monaghan progress through Ulster minor backdoor

Monaghan advanced to the second qualifying round of the Ulster minor championship after a three point win over Armagh.

Monaghan won out 15 points to 1-9 having led 10 points to 1-3 at half-time. Just two minutes were on the clock when Armagh found the net.

It was the orchard men's first score of the game but points from Packie Doogan Burke, DJ McElvaney, Shea Casey, Finlay Foy,  four from Max McGinnity (1f) and two from Tommy Mallen (1f) Monaghan led by four at the break.

Two second-half points from Foy, two from Eoghan McFarlane and one from Sean O'Connell saw Monaghan to victory and a meeting with Down in the second qualifying round.
