Monaghan’s All-Ireland minor campaign came to a conclusion as Galway had a convincing win in their semi-final.
Galway scored a 2-15 to nine points win in Longford Slashers GAA grounds. A game Galway impressed from the throw-in.
Aishling Madden’s seventh minute goal set the tribeswomen on the road to victory. Galway lead 1-10 to six points at half-time.
Whereas full-forward Eaba Sherry top scoring for Monaghan in the first-half with four points (1f). Grace Cumoskey and Sarah Tierney with the other Monaghan points.
Galway were impressive in the first-half, Siun McGovern (0-5 1f) and Madden (1-2) starring for the tribeswomen.
Sherry sent over two points (1 free) in the opening five minutes of the second-half. McGovern responded with two frees, either side of another Sherry point.
The game went away from Monaghan 10 minutes from time, when Sarah Tierney received a yellow card and the sin bin.
It was the queue for Galway to take control. While, Alisha O’Malley’s strong run and goal finished the game as a contest.
Galway tagged on points from Madden, Kate Thompson and Ella McMeel saw Galway home, 2-15 to 0-9.
Kildare will meet Galway in the All-Ireland final.
