Monaghan claimed a second victory from as many games following a 0-10 to 0-9 victory over Tyrone at Cookstown in Lidl ladies football league division 2B.
The Farney women led 0-6 to 0-5 at the half-time break and held on to lead by the same margin at the final whistle.
Monaghan started better and led 0-5 to 0-3 at the first water break; Chloe McBride accounted for three points while Muireann Atkinson and Jodie McQuillan were also on target.
On 25 minutes, Chloe McBride maintained the two-point cushion when she slotted over a lined ball but 60 seconds later, Chloe McCaffrey replied for Tyrone point leaving a point between them at half-time.
Monaghan opened up a three-point gap after as many minutes in the second half as Muireann Atkinson and Jodie McQuillan added two quick-fire scores.
Tyrone responded with three successive points before a score each from Jane Drury and Jodie McQuillan saw Monaghan move two points clear at the second water break.
Tyrone’s Sasha Byrne subsequently reduced the margin to a single point one minute from time but the hosts couldn’t find an equaliser as Monaghan recorded a narrow victory.
