It was mixed fortunes for Cavan and Monaghan in the Ulster U20 championship on Wednesday night.
The Breffni County saw their campaign come to an end in Owenbeg, losing out to Derry, 1-11 to seven points.
However, it was better news for Monaghan who qualified for the semi-final following a 1-15 to 13 point win over Armagh in the BOX-IT Athletic grounds.
Bobby McCaul with the all-important goal for the visitors as they came from three points down early in the first-half to reach the last four.
Manager Paul Curran admitted they started slow but finished strongly.
Monaghan will now face Tyrone in the semi final next Wednesday night Healy park Omagh. The other semi final will see Donegal hosting Derry .
