Monaghan completed their Division 3A league campaign with a 2 point loss to Sligo in Inniskeen. In a close encounter it was the visitors who prevailed on a score line of 21 points to 19. It was a fixture that had little bearing on the final group placings, as Monaghan had secured their Division 3A status for 2022 while Sligo were already promoted to Division 2B. However it did act as a good run out for both sides as they now turn their attention to their relevant championships.
Monaghan will compete in the Lory Meagher cup where they are in a group with Longford and Louth with Fermanagh and Cavan on the other side of the draw. The first outing in that competition will be on the 3rd of July with a trip away to Louth. Sligo will compete in the Christy Ring Cup where they are paired against Offaly, with Derry, Roscommon and Wicklow also in that competition.
