Fermanagh subsequently hit three points on the trot but Monaghan responded in style and restored their seven point cushion at the second water break.

David McCague’s side began the final quarter with great urgency and a point each from Conor McManus, Colin Walshe, Killian Lavelle and Conor Boyle opened up an 11-point gap.

Fermanagh accounted for two of the last three points but Monaghan still ran out convincing winners and will play either Armagh or Antrim on Saturday, 17th July.
