Mickey Harte has stepped down as manager of the Derry senior footballers after one year in charge.
Harte led Derry to the Allianz league title in March with a victory over Dublin on penalties. Derry made the Allianz league final with six wins and one draw.
However, Derry were beaten by Donegal in the Ulster and finished in third place in their All-Ireland group following defeats to Galway and Armagh.
While beating Mayo on penalties in the preliminary quarter-final after a victory over Westmeath. Derry bowed out of the championship after a 15 points to 10 defeat to Kerry in the quarter-final.
“I have decided to step down as manager of the Derry senior football team” said Mickey Harte in a statement.
“I would like to thank the players for the huge commitment they gave to the Derry jersey during the 2024 season”.
I would also like to thank Gavin and the entire backroom team for their hard work, dedication and expertise”.
