Stephen McKenna stopped Laws in round three to win the WBC international silver super welterweight title.
In an almighty battle between the two, who slugged it out, swinging wildly from the opening bell.
However, when The Monaghan fighter knocked him down early in the round, it seemed like his prediction was about to come true.
Laws rose but the Monaghan man was relentless. McKenna, smashing Laws into the ropes with punch after punch, cracking Laws with hard blows. But Laws dug out an almighty left hook, sending McKenna to the canvas.
Whereas, the first round was frenetic, so was the second. Laws slammed punches back when he could but McKenna kept the pressure on.
In the third round, Laws landed a right hook into McKenna's body, McKenna was determined to power through everything coming back at him.
The Monaghan hammered right hands into Law’s head, forcing him down to the canvas.
Another right saw Laws on the deck for the second time in the round. A third visit to the canvas left him unable to continue, prompting his corner to throw in the towel.
