The Donegal International Rally makes a return from today (Friday 17th) for the first time in 3 years, following the pandemic. A who's who of rallying crews have descended on the hills for one of the most popular events on the motorsport calendar. There is plenty of local interest with the Moffett Brothers of Josh and Sam in their R5 and WRC machinery expected to feature at the head of the field, while a number of other local competitors will compete over the 20 stages. One name that will feature on the entry list for the first time in a number of years is McRae as Max the son of former World Rally competitor Alister McRae makes his debut on the Irish Tarmac having travelled over from Australia. Alongside him will be Monaghan navigator Mac Kierans who has a vast experience of competing both here and in Australia.
Sean Mc Caffrey caught up with the 2 lads as they put their finishing touches to the preparation ahead of today's start and firstly got an update from Mac as to how things were going
