Cavan remain on top of Allianz football league division three following a 0-21 to 0-14 win over Offaly at O'Connor Park Tullamore.
The opening stages were evenly contested before seven successive scores either side of half-time gave Cavan the platform for victory.
The sides were deadlocked at six points each on 21 minutes. Patrick Lynch (two), Jonathan McCabe, Cian Madden, Ryan O'Neill and Brandon Boylan on target for Cavan.
McCabe and Anton Sullivan subsequently traded scores before four successive points saw the Breffni men lead 0-11 to 0-7 at the interval.
Points from O’Neill, Lynch and Boylan pushed Cavan moved seven points clear on 41 minutes. Eight minutes later Dylan Hand ended Offaly’s scoring drought.
David Brady restored Cavan’s seven-point cushion on 52 minutes. The sides cancelled each other out thereafter as the visitors ran out convincing winners.
