Conor McCarthy was awarded a prestigious PwC GAA/GPA all-star on Friday night.
A dramatic 2023 season with Monaghan and one not yet over with Scotstown, resulted in McCarthy being selected at left-half-back on the all-star team.
In a year where Monaghan ousted 2021 All-Ireland champions Tyrone from Ulster and made it to the All-Ireland semi-final. Meanwhile, Monaghan survived another season in division one.
McCarthy starred for Monaghan's in their 2023 success. The Scotstown man making a positive switch from the forwards to the left-half-back role.
Whereas, McCarthy is still very much involved in club duty with Scotstown. Indeed, the Monaghan champions Scotstown, face Trillick this Sunday in the Ulster club semi-final.
McCarthy joined Dave Hooper on Saturday Sport, reacting on becoming the 10th Monaghan man to win an All-Star.
