Leona Maguire has withdrawn from the Dow Great Lakes Bay invitational in Texas which has gotten underway today (Wednesday). The Cavan golfer was due to tee off after 6:30pm this evening but tweeted earlier that due to an non-Covid situation outside of her control she had withdrawn from the event. Wishing everyone competing good luck on what should be a fun event and format, the tweet finished with the #onwardsandupwards. Next up for Leona is a trip to Tokyo to compete at the Olympics as part of the Irish team. The Ballyconnell native has been on a great run of form on the LPGA tour with a number of finishes inside the top ten bringing her currently to 59th in the World rankings.
