Leona Maguire strong finish in Thailand

Leona Maguire finished tied for 33rd place at the HONDA LPGA in Thailand over the weekend.

Having made a triple bogey on the first the Cavan golfer recovered to post a second successive two under 70 and finished on six under with Angela Yin taking the win on 28 under.

Meanwhile three-time golf major champion Anna Nordqvist has been named as Team Europe's captain for next year's Solheim Cup. The Swede - who's featured in the last nine editions of the tournament - is Suzann Pettersen's successor. Nordqvist says she's proud to put her clubs down to take on the role.
