Leona Maguire landed the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan with a sensational eight-under-par 64 on the final round.
Maguire shot four birdies and an eagle in her final six holes to clinch victory. The second LPGA tour event the Cavan woman has captured.
"I've been playing some really good golf leading into this week and just tried to be patient” explained Maguire.
"It was nice to go bogey free” Maguire smiled. My goal was to get to 20-under; it was nice to go one better than that!”
"You have to play really good golf to win out here. It's tough. It's a really nice feeling to win this one, especially heading into the majors we've got coming up."
Maguire, started the day two off the lead produced a scintillating final round.
Birdies on 13, 16, 17 and 18 and an eagle on 14, saw the Cavan woman sign off at 21-under-par, three clear of the runners-up Amy Yang and Xiyu.
The Cavan woman threw the gauntlet down at Yang and Lin. Yang bogeying 16 and 17. While, Xiyu bogeyed 18 as Maguire took victory.
It is the second tour victory for the Cavan woman who made history in February 2022 when she clinched the Drive On Championship.
