The senior semi-finalists in Monaghan have been confirmed after both Inniskeen and Ballybay came through their quarter-finals.
Inniskeen were comfortable winners over Corduff in their encounter as Donal Meegan and Tommy Durnan both raised green flags in their 2-16 to 1-12 victory. Setting up a last four meeting with Scotstown in what is a repeat of last year’s final.
It was a tighter affair between Ballybay and Latton with the Pearse Brothers side forcing extra-time with a late Shane McGuinness point. Before edging ahead in the additional 20 minutes to hold out for a one point win; 1-15 to 19 points.
Paul Finlay was introduced during the course of the second-half when his side was trailing by four points. Finlay remarked, they were happy to get it over the line.
The semi-finals will form a double header on Sunday in St. Tiernachs Park with Ballybay taking on Clontibret and as noted Inniskeen will face Scotstown.
