The senior semi finalists in Monaghan have been confirmed after both Inniskeen and Ballybay came through their quarter finals. Inniskeen were comfortable winners over Corduff in their encounter as Donal Meegan and Tommy Durnan both raised green flags in their 2-16 to 1-12 victory to set up a last 4 meeting with Scotstown in what is a repeat of last years final. It was a tighter affair between Ballybay and Latton with the Pearse Brothers side forcing extra time with a late Shane Mc Guinness point before they edged ahead in the additional 20 minutes to hold out for a 1 point win 1-15 to 19 points. Paul Finlay was introduced during the course of the 2nd half when his side was trailing by 4 points and he remarked afterwards that they were happy to get it over the line
The semi finals will form a double header on Sunday next in St Tiernachs Park with Ballybay taking on Clontibret and as noted Inniskeen will face Scotstown.
