Lacken scored their second victory while Lavey fought back to play out a draw with Gowna.
Lacken 2-17 Kingscourt Stars 1-9
This one was more one sided then the scoreline suggests. Lacken led 12 points to five at half-time.
Paddy Leddy found the Kingscourt net eight minutes into the second-half making it an 11 point game.
Two minutes later Donal McSorley grabbed Lacken’s second goal and the gap was 13 points. Joe Dillon responded almost instantly with a goal, but the gap on the scoreboard and on the pitch was too much.
Kingscourt added two further points, but it was Lacken who won out by 11 points.
Gowna 0-14 Lavey 1-11
Lavey produced an excellent second-half come back to secure a draw with Gowna on a humid evening in Kingspan Breffni.
The game was level and close throughout with the sides locked at seven point’s a-piece at half-time.
Gowna added four points Daire Madden, Tiarnan Madden and two from Ryan Donohoe moved Gowna four clear with 10 to play.
However Lavey didn’t give up, Chris Conroy converted a penalty with seven minutes. Darragh Tierney added a point from play.
It came down to James McBreen to equalise in the third minute of injury time to secure a draw.
