Joe Dillon grabbed a last gasp goal as Kingscourt Stars scored a one point win over Cavan Gaels.
Kingscourt winning out 1-14 to 2-10, having trailed 1-5 to six points at half-time, to open their Cavan senior football championship with victory.
Jack Tully found the net on nine minutes as Cavan Gaels led 1-2 to two points. Paul O’Connor and Evan Fortune with Gaels points.
Kingscourt were reduced to 14, 60 seconds later as Peter Corrigan saw red. Paul Graham of Cavan Gaels also saw red from the same incident.
Jack Tully added a mark and Emmanuel Shehu scored from play as Gaels led 1-5 to six at half-time. Kingscourt other scores coming from Joe Dillon 0-2, Jordan Morris and Odhran Cunningham.
Shane Duffy brought it back to a one point game after the restart. However, Paul O’Connor raised a second green flag for Gaels moments later. Cavan Gaels leading 2-5 to 0-7.
Barry Reilly fired over four points from frees in response as Gaels led by one point on 12 minutes. Paul O’Connor moved Gales two points ahead in response.
Jordan Morris and O’Connor exchanged points. O’Connor added another free 11 minutes from time as Gaels led by three points.
However Odhran Cunningham and Jordan Morris brought it back to a one point game with eight minutes to play. Two Declan Meehan points moved Gales three clear with just 60 seconds left on the clock.
Three minutes into time Kevin Curtis converted a free and Kingscourt were two in arears.
With the final kick of the game, Joe Dillon blasted into the Gaels net and grab a surprise 1-14 to 2-10 win.

Meanwhile, Laragh United scored a heavy 16 point win over Lavey in Saturday night’s other game.
Larragh led 3-6 to 0-5 at half-time as Larragh recorded a heavy win.
