Killygarry and Gowna played out a 17 points to a 2-11 Cavan quarter-final draw and will have to meet again.
Two of the Cavan SFC quarter-finals will need a replay after Ramor United and Laragh United played out a draw on Friday night.
Gowna found the net twice in the opening period and led 2-5 to nine points at half-time. Conor Casey finding Gowna’s opening goal on nine minutes.
Tiarnan Madden 0-2 and Connor Madden had Gowna 1-3 to one point ahead. Darragh Lovett with Killygarry’s goal.
A 10th minute Darragh McConnon point moved Gowna six points clear. Conor Smith and Lovett responded to make it a four point game. Robbie Fitzpatrick moved Gowna five clear on 17 minutes.
Lovett’s third point of the day and one from Ben Mooney brought it back to a three point game, nine minutes from the break.
Gowna responded immediately, Darragh McConnon rattling in Gowna’s second goal of the day. Killygarry replied with three-points in a row. Two from Oisin Brady and one from Lovett saw Gowna lead 2-5 to nine points at half-time.
Gowna shot out from the traps. Ryan Brady scoring a fast point from the throw-in. Oisin Brady responded for Killygarry.
Gowna then built a sizable lead through Ryan Brady, Tiarnan Madden and Cian Madden saw them lead 2-9 to 0-10 on 38 minutes.
Killygarry recovery
Killygary enjoyed a green patch with an Oisin Brady free, two from play from Cian Keaney. Plus points from Darragh Lovett and Daniel Walsh had the side’s level nine minutes from time.
2-9 to 0-15. Conor Smith moved Killygarry a point clear a minute later. Ryan Donoghoe scored Gowna’s first point for 19 minutes.
Darragh Lovett moved Killygarry a point clear with three minutes to play before Cian Madden equalised a minute later.
The sides finished 2-11 to 17 points and will have to meet again.
