The second round of the Cavan championship saw two very one sided victories for Killygarry and Cavan Gaels.
Ballinagh 1-6 Killygarry 1-13
This one was very one sided as Killygarry overpowered Ballinagh.
Killygarry led 1-9 to six points at half-time. The gulf in class in the second-half evident as Ballinagh didn’t manage a point in the second-half.
Oisin Brady found the Ballinagh net on 15 minutes moving Killygarry four points clear, 1-4 to three points. This was game’s turning point as Killygarry led by six at half-time.
Ballinagh found the net four minutes from time, but it was just a consolation as Killygarry won out by six points.
Cavan Gaels 1-20 Mullahoran 0-4
This one went exactly as the pundits predicted with Cavan Gaels marching on.
However Mullahoran looked to be on their way to causing a surprise with just four points between the sides at half-time Gaels leading six points to two.
Mullahoran could only manage two further scores though. Gaels had doubled their advantage nine minutes after the restart.
Gearoid McKiernan’s goal six minutes from time just put the gloss on the scoreboard as Gaels won out 1-20 to four points.
