Killanny claimed their second victory in Monaghan senior football championship group two after beating Latton 4-5 to 1-13 on home soil.
The sides were level nine minutes from time before John Gartlan’s goal helped Killanny to a narrow victory.
Dean Connolly’s 11th minute goal helped Killanny lead 1-3 to 0-3 inside 16 minutes. Five minutes later Oisin Burns found the net making it a six-point game.
Eddie Walsh added another goal two minutes from the break. Shane Slevin replied with one for Latton on the stroke of half-time but the hosts still led 3-4 to 1-4.
Latton were a rejuvenated outfit after the restart. Aaron Mulligan halved the deficit within eight minutes of the restart before Cian Mulligan levelled the game nine minutes from time.
Gartlan’s goal seven minutes from time saw Killanny regain the upper hand.
Latton replied with two unanswered points but the hosts held on for a narrow victory.
