Iniskeen have put an end to Clontibret’s defence of the Greenfield Foods Monaghan Senior Football Championship beating the reigning champions 2-8 to 11 points.
Oisin McConville’s team trailed by eight points to threat half-time but an early second half goal by Sean Jones set the tone for a great comeback.
Clontribret held a three-point buffer with as many minutes of normal time remaining before Iniskeen registered three successive points to restore parity with Andrew Woods kicking the equaliser.
Andrew Woods then scored a last-gasp goal to knock out the 2019 county champions and set up a quarter-final meeting with Truagh next Sunday.
While Magheracloone took second spot in group one as they scored a 1-16 to 2-7 win over Donaghmoyne.
Elsewhere, Carrickmacross also sealed their place in the quarter-finals following a convincing 1-13 to 0-9 victory over Latton.
The result was never in doubt as Mattie McGleenan’s team led by nine points to two at the break.
A Stephen O’Hanlon goal in the second half helped them to a seven-point victory and they can now look forward to taking on Magheracloone in the quarter-final stage next week.
