Inniskeen sealed top spot in the Greenfield foods Monaghan SFC group two with victory over Clontibret.
Inniskeen won out 1-13 to 1-10, their fourth win of the campaign moving them to eight points. The victory sees them win group two with a round remaining.
The sides were level six points to 1-3 at half-time. Ryan McGuigan landing Clontibret’s goal on 15 minutes.
Sean Jones found the Clontibret net moments after the restart and Inniskeen were never behind in the remainder of the game.
Earlier, Scotstown claimed their second win of the championship, beating Dongahmoyne 2-14 to 0-11 in at home.
Just two points separated the sides on 27 minutes.Jack McCarron’s penalty goal on the stroke of half-time saw Scotstown lead 1-8 to 0-6.
James Hamill found the net on 46 minutes as Scotstown moved nine points clear. McCarron and Hamill added further points making it an 11-point game heading into injury time.
Garland and Stephen Cunningham registered late points for Donaghmoyne but the hosts still suffered a heavy defeat in the end.
That result means Scotstown are guaranteed third place in group two and progress to the Monaghan quarter-finals. Whereas, Donaghmoyne are set for the relegation play-off.
There are two games in group one tomorrow as Truagh meet Latton O'Rahileys at 2pm and Corduff host Aughnamullen at 5pm.
