The focus this weekend will be on hurling and ladies football as the Allianz National football league takes a break after 2 rounds. From a hurling perspective Cavan opened their Division 3 campaign with an impressive win over Sligo in Kingspan Breffni on Saturday past. It was a first outing for the Breffni side as they seen the round 1 fixture against Mayo cancelled due to the storm. Manager Ollie Bellew noted that the victory was a massive boost as they now prepare to travel to Ruislip to face London
In Division 4 Monaghan suffered a loss to Louth last weekend and will be looking to pick up their first points when they make the trip to Brewster park to take on Fermanagh who have 1 win in their 2 outings, that coming over Longford.
Ladies football has seen both teams from the Northern Sound region get off to perfect starts. Monaghan share top spot with Galway in Division 2 after their wins over Roscommon and Tipperary and make the trip to Donegal this Sunday. Cavan are similar in Division 3 with 6 points on the table following wins over Down and Louth and have their first home game when Carlow are the visitors to Kingspan Breffni.
