Monaghan legend Nudie Hughes has been honoured by the Gaelic Players Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Hughes received a lifetime achievement award for services as a Monaghan player at the GPA Legends Lunch at Croke Park on the All-Ireland football weekend.
Indeed, the Castleblayney man is widely regarded as one of Monaghan footballs greatest ever players. Hughes picked up the county’s first All-Star in 1979 and two further personal accolades followed in 1985 and 1988.
Sean McCaffrey was in attendance as the award ceremony where he spoke to the popular former player.
